Min‑Sung Sean Kim is the managing partner at Digital Health Ventures, a venture capital firm dedicated to advancing early‑stage digital health companies. Drawing on his experience across Europe, Asia and North America, he partners with entrepreneurs to build businesses that improve patient outcomes and healthcare efficiency.
Before joining Digital Health Ventures, Min‑Sung managed the Berlin office of Samsung Catalyst Fund and was instrumental in establishing Allianz X, the venture capital arm of Allianz Group. Through these roles he has led investments in and advised a range of digital health startups.
His portfolio includes companies such as mySugr and Medbelle, both of which originated in Europe, as well as American Well, Neuronation and Mimi. mySugr, a diabetes management app, was later acquired by Roche, underscoring his ability to identify transformative health technology companies.
Min‑Sung studied business and economics at Witten/Herdecke University in Germany and pursued additional studies at Harvard University, the University of St. Gallen and Seoul National University. He frequently contributes insights to publications like TechCrunch and Tech.eu and speaks at conferences about the future of digital health.
Outside of investing, Min‑Sung enjoys mentoring founders and fostering collaboration between the European and U.S. healthcare ecosystems. He is passionate about using technology to make healthcare more accessible and sustainable.
